Neutering for community cats and dogs

Our TNR and CNVR programme helps reduce the number of animals born onto the streets — kindly, humanely and one animal at a time.

What TNR and CNVR mean.

Without neutering, the number of stray cats and dogs grows quickly, as one unneutered pair can lead to many litters each year. That means more animals going hungry, more illness and injury, and more tension between animals and the people around them. Neutering is the most humane, lasting way to bring numbers down over time. As a veterinary hospital rooted in animal welfare, Garden Sanctuary is playing its part: we use our surgical team and experience to neuter, vaccinate and care for community animals, so fewer are born onto the streets and those already there can live healthier, more peaceful lives.

TNR — Trap, Neuter, Return

Community cats and dogs are humanely caught, neutered by our veterinary team, given time to recover, and returned to the area they know.

CNVR — Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return

The same gentle approach, with vaccination added — protecting the animals and the communities they live alongside.

The need

Every year, many kittens and puppies are born on Amman's streets with little chance of food, shelter or care. Unneutered animals face fights, injuries and disease, and numbers keep growing.

What your gift provides

Your donation covers safe surgery, pain relief, vaccination and quiet recovery time. The result is healthier, calmer animals living out their lives in familiar places, and fewer animals born into hardship.

Why it matters.

  • ✓Fewer puppies and kittens born into hardship on the streets.
  • ✓Healthier, calmer animals and fewer fights and injuries.
  • ✓A humane, long-term way to care for community animals.

Feeding our resident animals.

Our second programme provides food for the shelter animals and abandoned animals who live with us at the centre. Your gift keeps their bowls full, every day, while they wait for a home or live out their lives in our care.

The need

Our shelter and abandoned animals depend on us for every meal. Many arrive thin or unwell, and good nutrition is the first step to their recovery.

What your gift provides

Your donation buys quality food, special diets for sick or older animals, and treats and toys for enrichment. The result is stronger, healthier, happier animals who are ready for a new home.

Caring for working animals.

Our third programme helps fund treatment and food for the donkeys and horses that come through our centre. These animals carry families' livelihoods, and your gift helps them get the care they need to stay healthy and strong.

The need

Donkeys and horses work long hours in heat and on hard ground. Many arrive with wounds, lameness, hoof or teeth problems, or poor condition, and their families often can't afford care.

What your gift provides

Your donation pays for treatment, medicine, hoof and dental care, and nourishing feed during recovery. The result is animals that are free from pain, stronger and able to rest, and families whose livelihoods are protected.
